HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that the undernentioned persons have been duly elected to be Members of the Board of Conservators for "The North Rakaia District" under "The Canterbury Rivers Act, 1870," viz.:

Andrew Storry, of Southbridge.

HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that he has made the following Reserves, temporarily, under the 19th clause of the Waste Lands Regulations, viz.:
No. 1343, in red.—All that piece or parcel of land, situate in the Ashley District, containing by admeasurement two acres two roods more or less, being bounded on the north-westward by the Upper Sefton Road; on the north-eastward by the railway reserve; on the south-eastward by a line parallel to and two chains distant from the Upper Sefton Road above-mentioned; and on the south-westward by section 2309.—For Railway purposes.
No. 1344, in red.—Five acres more or less, situate in the Ellesmere District, bounded on the south-westward by the Selwyn and Bealey’s Road; on the south-eastward by Section 14512; on the north-westward by a line parallel to and five chains distant from the south-eastern boundary; and on the north-eastward by a line at right angles to the last described boundary, so as to contain the above quantity, subject to I.P.R.A. on run No. 108.—For a Gravel Pit.

PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by "The Canterbury Rivers Act, 1870," it is enacted that the Provincial Council may, by resolution, from time to time decide that any part or parts of the Province shall be constituted a District for the purposes of the said Act; and that such resolution shall describe the limits of such district, and designate the name by which such district shall be known, and mention the number of Conservators, being not less than three nor more than five, of which the Board of the District shall be constituted. And it is further enacted that so soon as the full number of Members of a Board has been filled up as provided by the said Act, the Superintendent shall by Proclamation in the New Zealand Gazette and the Gazette of the Province, declare the Board to be duly constituted. And whereas by a resolution passed by the Provincial Council on the Fifth day of January, One thousand eight hundred and seventy-two, it was decided that a part of the Province as therein described should be constituted a District for the purposes of the said Act, under the name of the "North Rakaia District," and that the Board of Conservators for the said District should consist of Five Members. And whereas the full number of the Members of the Board has been filled up as provided by the said Act.
Now, therefore, I, William Rolleston, Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, in pursuance of the powers so vested in me as aforesaid, do hereby declare the Board of Conservators for the North Rakaia District to be duly constituted.
