HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that he has appointed

MR. JAMES MACDONALD

to be an Inspector of Sheep for the Province. The appointment to date from the first September, 1871.

Mr. Macdonald will have charge of the Southern District, having his head quarters at Timaru, to which place all communications for him should be addressed.

PUBLIC NOTICE.

NOTICE is hereby given, that persons wishing to Visit Friends at the Lunatic Asylum are at liberty to do so, on Mondays and Thursdays, between the hours of 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Visiting at other times will be strictly prohibited, unless special permission is first obtained.

PURSUANT to the provisions of “The Auctioneers’ Ordinance, Session III., No. 8,” I hereby give notice that the undermentioned person has taken out an Auctioneer’s License for the term ending the 30th June, 1872:
