And whereas it is desirable to alter the
boundaries of the said district:
Now, therefore, I, WILLIAM ROLLESTON,
Superintendent of the Province aforesaid, do
hereby, in pursuance of the powers so vested
in me, proclaim that the boundaries of the
Eyreton Educational District shall be as
follows:—
Starting at the junction of the Oxford
Tram road with the north branch of
the Waimakariri river; thence west-
erly along the said road to its inter-
section with the road to the south-
east of section 8216; thence south-
westerly along the latter road to the
Cust road; thence south-easterly
along the latter road to the south-
east corner of section 11,500; thence
in a straight line to the north-western
corner of section 6159; thence south-
erly by the Waimakariri No. 10
road to the river Eyre; thence west-
erly along that river to the road to
the west of section 6657; thence
north-easterly along that road to the
Oxford Tram road; thence westerly
along the latter road to its intersec-
tion by the road forming the western
boundary of Mr. Chapman’s run and
freehold land, following the latter
road southerly to the river Eyre;
thence following that river westerly
to the road forming the western
boundary of Mr. Dixon’s homestead
pre-emptive right; following that
road southerly and a road in continu-
ation thereof to the north bank of
the Waimakariri river; thence re-
turning easterly along that bank and
along that of the north branch before
mentioned, to the starting point.
Given under my hand at Christchurch,
this 27th day of January, one

PROCLAMATION
By his Honor WILLIAM ROLLESTON, Esq.,
Superintendent of the Province of
Canterbury, altering the boundaries
of the Flaxton Educational district.
WHEREAS by an Ordinance of the
Superintendent and Provincial Coun-
cil of the Province of Canterbury, entitled
“The Education Ordinance Amendment
Ordinance, 1865,” it is among other things
provided that it shall be lawful for the
Superintendent of the Province of Canter-
bury, for the time being, from time to time
to change or alter the boundaries of any and
every Educational District proclaimed under
the authority of “The Education Ordinance,
1864."
And whereas on the twenty-fifth day of
March, one thousand eight hundred and
sixty-eight the Flaxton Educational District
was proclaimed under the authority of the
said Ordinance:
And whereas it is desirable to alter the
boundaries of the said district:
Now, therefore, I, WILLIAM ROLLESTON,
Superintendent of the Province aforesaid, do
hereby, in pursuance of the powers so vested
in me, proclaim that the boundaries of the
Flaxton Educational District shall be as
follows:—
Commencing at the point where the
northern boundary of the Eyreton
District touches the right bank of
the river Waimakariri (such point
being the south-eastern corner of
section 3768); thence following
north-easterly along that Bank to
Boys’ Rangiora Direct road; thence
north-westerly along that road to the
north-western boundary of section
4295; thence along that boundary
round the eastern boundary of sec-
tion 8194; thence along the eastern
and north-eastern boundaries of sec-
tion 10,090, and along the north-eastern
boundary of section 10,089 to the
road to the east of sections 4146 and
2229; thence following north-easterly
along that road to the river Cam,
following that river north-westerly to
Young’s road; thence westerly along
this latter road to its junction with
the Boys’ Rangiora Direct road,
following south-easterly along this
latter road to its junction with the
Ashley and Kaiapoi road; thence
north-westerly along this latter road
to the north-east corner of section
1579; thence southerly along the
eastern boundary of this latter sec-
tion, and westerly along its southern
boundary, and northerly along the
road on its western boundary to its
junction with the road on the north
of section 6610; thence westerly
along this latter road and southerly
along the same road, where it forms
the western boundary of the same
section, and following southerly the
eastern boundary of section 6592 to
the Rangiora Main Drain; thence
north-westerly along the drain to the
road between sections 4102 and 4101;
thence south-westerly along that
road to the Oxford and Ohoka road,
and south-easterly along the latter
road to the north-west corner of sec-
tion 2685; thence southerly along
the western boundaries of this section
and of sections 6450, 6195, and 3591,
and easterly along the southern
boundary of the latter section to the
road to the east of the said section;
thence south-westerly along this
road to its junction with the Oxford
Tram road, and thence south-easterly
along the latter road to the starting
point.
