Commencing at the point where the Wai-
makariri No. 10 road crosses the
River Eyre; thence westerly along
that river to the road to the west of
section 6657; thence north-easterly
along this road, south-easterly along
the Eyre road, north and north-
easterly along the road to the west of
section 10,224, to the Oxford and
Ohoko road; thence north-easterly
along this latter road, and southerly
along the Waimakariri No. 10 road
to its junction with the Cust road;
thence south-easterly along this latter
road to its junction with the road to
the south-west of sections 3982 and
3104; thence south-easterly along
this latter road, and north-easterly
along the road to the west of section
4994, and south-easterly along the
road to the north-east of section
7124, to the north-western corner of
section 2685; thence southerly along
the western boundaries of this sec-
tion and of sections 6450, 6195, and
3591; and easterly along the south-
ern boundary of the latter section to
the road to the east of the said sec-
tion; thence south-westerly along
this road to its junction with the
Cust road; thence southerly along
the latter road to the south-eastern
corner of section 11,500; thence in a
straight line to the north-western
corner of section 6159; and thence

PROCLAMATION
By His Honor William Rolleston, Esq.,
Superintendent of the Province of
Canterbury.
WHEREAS by an Ordinance of the
Superintendent and Provincial Coun-
cil of the Province of Canterbury, entitled
"The Education Ordinance, 1864," it is,
among other things, enacted that whenever
the Board of Education shall call by adver-
tisement a public meeting of owners and
occupiers of land and householders in any
district, and such meeting shall declare by
the votes of the majority of the persons
present (being such owners and occupiers
of land and householders as aforesaid), that
they are willing that the said district be
formed into an Educational District under
the provisions of the said Ordinance, and
shall declare their willingness to provide
the proportion of the annual expenses of an
Educational District, the Superintendent
shall, as soon as conveniently may be, by
Proclamation in the Provincial Government
Gazette, declare such district to be an Edu-
cational District under the said Ordinance,
and such district shall thereupon become an
Educational District accordingly:
And whereas a meeting of residents in
the Mandeville Plains District, duly called
as aforesaid, and held on Wednesday, the
twenty-first day of December, one thousand
eight hundred and seventy, the owners and
occupiers of land and householders in the
district specified in the Schedule hereunto
annexed, did, by the votes of the majority
there present, declare that they were willing
that the said district should be formed into
an Educational District, and further declare
their willingness to provide the proportion
of the annual expenses of an Educational
District, as provided in the said Ordinance.
Now therefore, I, William Rolleston,
Superintendent of the said Province, in
pursuance of the power in me vested by the
said in part recited Ordinance, do hereby
proclaim that the district specified in the
Schedule hereunto annexed shall be an Edu-
cational District within the meaning of
the said Ordinance.
PROCLAMATION

Superintendent of the Province of
Canterbury, altering the boundaries
of the Eyreton Educational District.
WHEREAS by an Ordinance of the
Superintendent and Provincial Coun-
cil of the Province of Canterbury, entitled
"The Educational Ordinance Amendment
Ordinance, 1865," it is among other things
provided that it shall be lawful for the
Superintendent of the Province of Canter-
bury, for the time being, from time to time
to change or alter the boundaries of any and
every Educational District proclaimed under
the authority of "The Education Ordinance,
1864:
And whereas on the fifth day of October,
one thousand eight hundred and sixty-five,
the Eyreton Educational District was pro-
claimed under the authority of the said
Ordinance:
