Now therefore, I, ROBERT HEATON RHODES, Deputy-Superintendent of the said Province, in pursuance of the powers in me vested do hereby proclaim that the district specified in the Schedule hereunto annexed, shall be an Educational District within the meaning of the said Ordinance.

SCHEDULE.
GERALDINE EDUCATIONAL DISTRICT.
Commencing at a point where the boundary of the Waihi Educational District touches the River Hae Hae te Moana; thence north-westerly along the said river to the road to the east of section 5282; thence northerly along the said road to the River Orari; thence south-easterly along this river to the boundary of the Waihi Educational District; and thence south-westerly along the said boundary to the starting point.
PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by an Ordinance of the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Canterbury, entitled "The Education Ordinance, 1864," it is among other things enacted that whenever the Board of Education shall call by advertisement a public meeting of owners and occupiers of land and householders in any district, and such meeting shall declare by the votes of the majority of the persons present (being such owners and occupiers of land and householders as aforesaid), that they are willing that the said district be formed into an Educational District under the provisions of the said Ordinance, and shall declare their willingness to provide the proportion of the annual expenses of an Educational District, the Superintendent shall, as soon as conveniently may be, by Proclamation in the Provincial Government Gazette, declare such district to be an Educational District under the said Ordinance, and such district shall thereupon become an Educational District accordingly:
And whereas a meeting of residents in the Gebbie’s Valley District, duly called as aforesaid, and held on Monday, the 29th day of May, One thousand eight hundred and seventy-one, the owners and occupiers of land and householders in the district specified in the Schedule hereunto annexed, did, by the votes of the majority there present, declare that they were willing that the said district should be formed into an Educational District, and further declare their willingness to provide the proportion of the annual expenses of an Educational District, as provided in the said Ordinance.

GEBBIE’S VALLEY EDUCATIONAL DISTRICT.
Commencing at Mount Herbert; thence westerly along the southern boundary of the Governor’s Bay District to Gebbie’s Pass; thence in a straight line to the junction of the Ahuriri Bush Road North with the Ahuriri Bush Road South; thence southerly along the latter road and along the south-western boundary of section 1879 and a line in continuation thereof to Lake Ellesmere; thence along the shores of the Lake to a point opposite the spur at Sally’s Bay at the south-west corner of section 2888; thence in a straight line to Archie’s Peak, and thence in a straight line to Mount Herbert.

HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that he has made the following Reserves, temporarily, under the 19th Clause of the Waste Lands Regulations, viz.:-
No. 1313, in red.—Twenty acres (more or less), situate in the Upper Waimakariri District, on run No. 333, bounded on the northward by the West Coast road; on the south-eastward by a straight line along the base of the hill; and on the westward by a line at right angles to said road, so as to include the above quantity, and cover the buildings occupied by the Road Party—for the use of the party engaged in the repair of the West Coast road.
No. 1314, in red.—Five acres (more or less), situate in the Oxford district, having a frontage of five chains to the Harewood road by Rangiora, and extending southerly a distance of ten chains in a rectangular block east of and adjoining section 6077—For a gravel pit.
