SCHEDULE.

SELWYN EDUCATIONAL DISTRICT.

Commencing at the point where the Railway Reserve crosses the River Selwyn; thence south-westerly along such reserve to its junction with the Tramway reserve, southerly along the Tramway reserve to its junction with the road between sections 9513 and 10123; and thence south-westerly along this road to the south-western corner of reserve 1168; thence in a straight line to the southernmost corner of section 9281; thence in a straight line to the southernmost corner of section 12522; thence along the eastern boundary of this latter section, and a straight line in continuation thereof to the river Selwyn, and thence along the river to the starting point.

PROCLAMATION

By His Honor WILLIAM ROLLESTON, Esq., Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, altering the boundaries of the Leeston Educational District.

WHEREAS by an Ordinance of the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Canterbury, intituled "The Educational Ordinance Amendment Ordinance, 1865," it is, among other things, provided that it shall be lawful for the Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, for the time being, from time to time to change or alter the boundaries of any and every Educational District proclaimed under the authority of "The Education Ordinance, 1864;"

And whereas on the first day of April, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-seven, the Leeston Educational District was proclaimed under the authority of the said Ordinance, the boundaries of which district were altered by Proclamation, dated the ninth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine:

And whereas it is desirable to further alter the boundaries of the said district.

Now, therefore, I, WILLIAM ROLLESTON, Superintendent of the Province aforesaid, do hereby, in pursuance of the powers so vested in me, proclaim that the boundaries of the Leeston Educational District shall be as follows:

Bounded on the east by Lake Ellesmere; on the north-east by Hanmer’s road, to its junction with the Ellesmere and Lincoln road; thence south-westerly along the latter road to the south-west corner of section 6046; thence north-westerly along the southern boundaries of sections 6046, 6137, 5851, 7243, 7942, and in a straight line from the western corner of the latter section to the eastern corner of section 8431; thence north-westerly along the road between sections 8431 and 9013, to its junction with the road between sections 9933 and 10577; thence southerly along this latter road to the southern corner of section 10427; thence north-westerly along the south-western boundary of this section to the boundary dividing section 7730 from section 7781; thence south-westerly along this latter boundary to the road to the south-west of these sections; thence north-westerly along the said road to the road between sections 8060 and 7594; thence south-westerly along this latter road to the south-eastern corner of section 8060; thence along the south-western boundary of the latter section and of section 8061, and along the southern boundary of section 9704, to the road to the west of the latter section; thence southerly along the said road to the south-eastern corner of section 9684; thence south-westerly along the southern boundary of this latter section and section 6332, to the road to the west of the latter section; thence southerly along the said road to the southern boundary of section 7667; thence south-westerly along the said boundary, and along the northern boundary of section 12652, and southerly along the Selwyn and Bealey road to the Tramway reserve; thence westerly along the said reserve to the south-western corner of reserve 315; thence southerly along the road from said reserve to junction of Fereday’s road with Taumutu and Bridge’s road; thence southerly by the latter road to its junction with Hart’s road; thence easterly by the latter road to reserve 208, and along the southern boundary of said reserve to Lake Ellesmere.

Given under my hand, at Christchurch, this twenty-second day of November, one thousand eight hundred and seventy.
