KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, that I, Anthony Hodgson,
of Rangiora, in the Province of Canterbury, in New Zealand, Farmer, being seized in
fee simple of that part of Rural Section of Land numbered 235 on the Map of the
Chief Surveyor of the Province of Canterbury, setting out and describing the rural
land in the Christchurch district thereof, commencing at a point on the south side of
a road laid out through the said section, the southern side of such road being parallel
with and forty links distant from the northern boundary of the said section, such
point being nine hundred and fifty links from the eastern boundary thereof; thence at a
right angle easterly nine hundred and sixty-one links to the eastern boundary of said
section; thence southerly along the eastern boundary fifty links; thence westerly nine
hundred and sixty-two links; thence at a right angle southerly five hundred links;
thence at a right angle easterly nine hundred and seventy-two links to the eastern
boundary of said section; thence southerly along that boundary fifty links; thence
westerly four hundred and seventy-three links; thence at a right angle southerly
four hundred and eighty-six links to the south-western boundary of said section;
thence at an angle north-westerly along that boundary about fifty-five links; thence
at an angle northerly four hundred and thirty-five links; thence at a right angle
westerly four hundred and sixty-five links to the south-western boundary of said section;
thence at an angle north-westerly about three hundred and eighty links along
the said south-western boundary; thence at an angle north-easterly fifty links; thence
at an angle south-easterly about two hundred and seventy-five links; thence at an
angle northerly four hundred and fifty links; thence at a right angle westerly
four hundred and ninety-two links; thence at a right angle northerly fifty links; thence
at a right angle easterly four hundred and ninety-five links; thence at a right angle
northerly five hundred links to the south side of the before-mentioned road; thence
at a right angle easterly fifty links to the commencing point, and delineated and
colored brown in the plan drawn hereon for valuable consideration, do hereby dedicate
the said land to the public to the intent that the same may for ever hereafter be
used as and be a Public Highway to all intents and purposes.

In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal, this Twenty-second
day of August, One thousand eight hundred and seventy.
