RAKAIA FERRY.

THE Public are hereby informed that the Ferry on the River Rakaia, at the point where the Bridge is being erected, having been proclaimed a Public Ferry, under "The Bridges and Ferries Act, 1868," no person will be permitted to cross, or to convey any vehicle across the said river within a distance of one mile above and one mile below that point, without payment of the Tolls chargeable at the said Ferry to the Lessee thereof; and any person evading, or attempting to evade such payment, will be liable to a penalty not exceeding five pounds.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Sections of Land specified below will be submitted to Public Auction at the sitting of the Waste Lands Board, to be held at the Land Office, Christchurch, on THURSDAY, JULY 21, 1870, at noon, subject to the usual Conditions of Sale, in conformity with the Regulations for the disposal, sale, letting, and occupation of the Waste Lands of the Crown now in force in the Province of Canterbury.
