bridge over the river Cam; thence easterly north-easterly along its eastern boundary to the North road; thence northerly, following the eastern side of the said road to its junction with the Rangiora road; thence north-westerly, following the north-eastern side of that road to the road forming the eastern boundary of section 1028; thence south-westerly, following the western boundary line of the latter road to the River Cam, and from thence following the eastern bank of that river to the commencing point, to be an Infected District within the meaning of "The Diseased Cattle Act, 1861."
And whereas it has been made to appear to me that the said district is entirely free from the disease called Pleuro-pneumonia:
Now therefore I, the said William Rolleston, do hereby proclaim and declare that the aforesaid district shall cease to be an Infected District within the meaning of the said Act from and after the thirty-first day of March, one thousand eight hundred and seventy.

PROCLAMATION.
By His Honor William Rolleston, Esq., Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, altering the boundaries of the Arowhenua Educational District.
WHEREAS by an Ordinance enacted by the Superintendent and Provincial Council of Canterbury, intituled "The Education Ordinance Amendment Ordinance, 1865," it is, among other things, provided that it shall be lawful for the Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, for the time being, from time to time to change or alter the boundaries of any and every Educational District proclaimed under the authority of "The Education Ordinance, 1864."
And whereas by a Proclamation dated the Third Day of February, One thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine, the boundaries of the Arowhenua Educational District were proclaimed, and whereas it is desirable to alter the boundaries of the said District.
Now therefore, I, William Rolleston, Superintendent of the Province aforesaid, do hereby, in pursuance of the powers so vested in me, proclaim that the boundaries of the Arowhenua Educational District shall be as follows:
Commencing at a point on the River Opihi, due south of the easternmost corner of section 3285; thence in a straight line to such corner; thence north-westerly along the eastern boundaries of sections 8235, 10170, 10874, to the north-eastern corner of the latter section; thence in a straight line to the nearest corner of section 8810; thence north-easterly along its eastern boundary to the north-eastern corner thereof; thence in a straight line to the junction of the road running between sections 6025 and 6018 with the road running between sections 6025 and 6724; thence westerly along this latter road to its junction with the road to the west of section 6724, thence in a straight line to the south-eastern corner of section 2901; thence westerly along its southern boundary and a line in continuation thereof to the River Hae-Hae-Te-Moana; thence in a straight line to the south-western corner of section 6595; thence south-easterly and south-westerly along the road lying between that section and section 7100 to the north-western corner of section 8698; thence south-easterly along the south-western boundaries of sections 8698, 2945, and 6384, to the River Opihi; and thence easterly along that river to the starting point.
Given under my hand at Christchurch this Twenty-second day of March, One thousand eight hundred and seventy.

PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by an Ordinance of the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Canterbury, entitled "The Education Ordinance, 1864," it is among other things enacted that whenever the Board of Education shall call by advertisement a public meeting of owners and occupiers of land and householders in any district, and such meeting shall declare by the votes of the majority of the persons present (being such owners and occupiers of land and householders as aforesaid) that they are willing that the said district be formed into an Educational District, under the provisions of the said Ordinance, and shall declare their willingness to provide the proportion of the annual expenses of an Educational District, the Superintendent shall, as soon as conveniently may be, by Proclamation in the Provincial Government Gazette, declare such district to be an Educational District under the said Ordinance; and such district shall thereupon become an Educational District accordingly:
And whereas, at a meeting duly called as aforesaid, and held at the School-room, Pleasant Point, on Wednesday, the Second day of February, One thousand eight hundred and seventy, the owners and occupiers of land and householders in the district specified in the Schedule hereto annexed, did, by the votes of the majority there present, declare that they were willing that the said district should be formed into an Educational District, and did further declare their willingness to provide the proportion of the annual expenses of an Educational District;
