Remarks.

Very rough weather was experienced from
the 12th to the 16th, inclusive, when much
snow fell among the Mountains, and a con-
siderable quantity lay on the Port Hills. The
29th and 30th also were very rainy. The re-
minder of the month was fine. The rain-
fall, viz: 3.831 inches was of a greater depth
than is usual in October, the average for the
five previous years being 1.796 inches.

PUBLIC NOTICE.

"Lost Land Orders Act, 1861."

HEREBY give notice, that I will hold a
Court in the office of the Waste Lands
Board, Christchurch, on Thursday the 6th
day of January, 1870, at 11 o'clock, a.m., for
the purpose of considering the claim of Con-
way Mordant Shipley, of the Moors, Twyford
near Winchester, England, Esquire, who
has applied to have a Crown Grant issued to
him in exchange for a Canterbury Associa-
tion Land Order, No. 356, for fifty acres of
rural land, which land order, the said Con-
way Mordant Shipley, declares to be lost.

Any persons interested in the above claim
are requested to attend.
