PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by a Regulation issued
under the provisions of "The Diseased
Cattle Act, 1861," and "The Diseased
Cattle Act Amendment Act, 1865," and
published in the New Zealand Gazette of
the 20th September, 1869, and assented to
by His Excellency the Governor as notified
in the New Zealand Gazette of the 23rd of
October, 1869, it is provided that when any
notice shall have been given by an Inspector
under the Diseased Cattle Acts in accordance
with the Eleventh Regulation contained in
the Proclamation dated the 3rd day of

one month from the date of such notice any
Inspector shall be satisfied that disease is
likely again to recur upon the said farm or
run, then the cattle may be declared by the
Superintendent to be infected cattle, and he
may order them to be slaughtered within a
reasonable period:

And whereas on the 28th day of September,

is to say—

And whereas I have received a certificate
from an Inspector of Cattle bearing date the
8th day of November, 1869, that he is fully
satisfied that disease is likely again to recur
within the said district:

Now therefore I, William Rolleston,
Superintendent as aforesaid, in pursuance of
the powers in me vested in that behalf do
hereby declare that the cattle now de-
pasturing within the farms or runs within
the said Infected District occupied by the
above-named persons on whom the aforesaid
notice was served upon the 28th day of
September last, are infected cattle within
the meaning of the first-named regulation,
and I do hereby order the said cattle to be
destroyed within six weeks from the day
