Land Reserves Notices




Public Works Office,
Christchurch, November 3, 1869.

HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that he has made the following Reserves, temporarily, under the 19th clause of the Waste Lands Regulations, for Educational purposes, viz:—

No. 1217, in red.—Sixty acres, more or less, situate in Pigeon Bay, B. P., bounded on the south-westward by the Purau and Akaroa road; on the south-eastward by sections 11,547 and 10,271; on the north-eastward by sections 13,661 and 10,271; and on the north-westward by a line parallel to the south-eastern boundary, so as to contain the above quantity: subject to a road.

No. 1218, in red.—Fifteen acres, more or less, situate in Pigeon Bay, B. P., bounded on the south-westward by the Purau and Akaroa road; on the south-eastward by Reserve No. 1217, in red, on the north-eastward by section 13,661; and on the north-westward by section 13,645: subject to a road.

No. 1219, in red.—Forty acres, more or less, situate in Pigeon Bay, B. P., bounded on the southward by the road forming the northern boundary of section 10,981; on the westward by sections 11,460 and 10,902; on the northward by section 10,902, and the road passing through that section; and on the eastward by a line parallel to the western boundary, so as to contain the above quantity.

No. 1220, in red.—One hundred and thirty acres, more or less, situate at the head of Akaroa Harbour, bounded on the northward by the road forming the southern boundary of section 11,476; on the westward by sections 11,571, 11,459, and the Pigeon Bay and Akaroa road; on the south-eastward by section 11,571, the road leading to section 11,459, and also by the road on the eastern side of section 10,445; and on the north-eastward by a line parallel to the north-eastern boundary line of the aforesaid sections 11,571 and 11,459, so as to contain the above quantity: subject to roads.

No. 959, in red.—All that portion of the Province of Canterbury comprised within the highest flood line of Lake Ellesmere (subject nevertheless to reserves, freehold land, and preemptive rights)—For purposes in connection with the drainage of Lake Ellesmere.

No. 960, in red.—All that portion of the Province of Canterbury comprised within the highest flood line of Lake Forsyth (subject, nevertheless, to reserves, freehold land, and preemptive rights)—For purposes in connection with the drainage of Lake Forsyth.

No. 1221, in red.—One hundred and fifty acres, more or less, situate in Barry’s Bay, bounded on the northward by Harman’s road; on the eastward by section 13,662; on the south-eastward by the Gold Spur road; on the southward by Townsend’s Little River road; and on the westward by a line parallel to the eastern boundary, so as to contain the above quantity: subject to roads.

No. 1222, in red.—Eighty acres, more or less, situate at Robinson’s Bay,
