xvii.
The building contains a lot of rough wooden benches, some of them stuck in the ground,
and other lumber unfit either for school use, or for domestic purposes.
Two sod chimneys, one at each end of the building, that at the south-western end had
fallen down and been re-built.
The building has the appearance of an old one, and has been used for three or four
years, only as a temporary place of worship.
VALUATION.
Sod-work, 80 sq. yds., inclusive of chimneys, @ 2s. 6d. per sq. yd. ... £10
Window frames and glass ... 5
Doors, hinges, locks, &c ... 1
Slabs and rough wood work ... 2
£18
The above is, I believe, a liberal valuation as per new work, but it is now three or four
years old; the present value of the whole, would not exceed £12.
A low sod fence, comprising about 18 chains, surrounds the section, but is broken and
out of repair in several places; in this state, it cannot, on the whole, be worth more that
about £5, at about 8s. a chain.
Total value £17, for building and fence.
Particulars of the examinations of each school are fully detailed in the Journal.
I have the honour to be, Sir,
Your obedient servant,
J. P. RESTELL,
Inspector of Schools.
