PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, entitled "The Canterbury Temporary Mining Reserves Act, 1869," it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Superintendent of Canterbury, by Proclamation, to temporarily reserve from sale any lands in which he shall have good reason to believe that precious metals exist: provided that no such reservation shall continue in force beyond the end of the Session of the Provincial Council next after the issue of such Proclamation.

Now therefore I, William Rolleston, Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, by virtue of the powers enabling me in that behalf, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land described in the Schedule hereto.

Given under my hand at Christchurch this Thirteenth day of October, One thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine.

SCHEDULE.

Six hundred and forty acres, more or less, situate in the Rakaia District, bounded on the north-eastward by the road next to and north-east of Briantโ€™s Hill; on the south-westward by the River Rakaia; on the south-eastward by a straight line bearing S. 53 deg. W. (mag.), drawn from a point on the said road situate about thirty-four chains south-east of the Trig. pole on the hill above-mentioned; and on the north-westward by a line bearing S. 74 deg. 30 min. W. (mag.), so as to contain the above quantity, exclusive of sections 523, 3731, and 13,696, and Reserve No. 247, in red: subject to I.P.R. a, on Run No. 41, Class 2.


PROCLAMATION

William Rolleston, Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, in pursuance of a recommendation to that effect from the Provincial Council, do hereby proclaim the Cust Road Board District, an Agricultural District, in accordance with "The Trespass of Cattle Ordinance, 1869."

Given under my hand at Christchurch, this twenty-second day of October, One thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine.
