PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, entitled "The Canterbury Temporary Mining Reserves Act, 1869," it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Superintendent of Canterbury, by Proclamation, temporarily to reserve from sale any lands in which he shall have good reason to believe that precious metals exist. Provided that no such reservation shall continue in force beyond the end of the Session of the Provincial Council next after the issue of such Proclamation.

Now therefore I, William Rolleston, Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, by virtue of the powers enabling me in that behalf, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land described in the Schedule hereto.

Given under my hand at Christchurch this Sixteenth day of September, One thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine.

SCHEDULE.

All that block of land, one mile square, containing six hundred and forty acres, situate in the Ashburton District, the south-western boundary situate half a mile north-east of and parallel to the northern branch of the River Ashburton, the southernmost corner of the said block being distant about two miles and a quarter from the south-west corner of section 13617.


ERRATA.

In Gazette No. XXXVI., September 1, 1869, in the description of Reserve No. 1127, in red, for "six hundred and forty acres" read "four hundred and seventeen acres;" and in description of Reserve No. 1128, in red, for "six hundred and forty acres" read "five hundred and eight acres."

His Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that he has made the following Reserves, temporarily, under the 19th clause of the Waste Lands Regulations, viz.:

No. 1155, in red.—Seventy acres, more or less, situate in the Lincoln district, bounded on the northward by the north Selwyn road; on the eastward by section 4256; on the westward by H.P.R. on run 51; and on the southward by the river Selwyn—As an endowment for a Hospital.

No. 1156, in red.—Forty-six acres, more or less, situate in the Lincoln district, bounded on the north-westward by the Great South road; on the westward by H.P.R. on run 51; on the southward by the North Selwyn road; and on the eastward by a line at right angles to the latter road, so as to contain the above quantity—As an endowment for a Hospital.
