The Return for May 1869 includes five weeks ending June 3. That for May 1868 is for the calendar month. Applying to the respective amounts the correction due to this difference, the receipts for the calendar month of May 1869 become £343 15s. 1d. and £1348 0s. 2d., and the excess of receipts over May 1868 -- Lyttelton and Christchurch Line, £101 9s. 6d., and Great South Line, £145 12s. 1d.
