REMARKS.
CHRISTCHURCH.
The weather from the 1st to the 15th October was changeable and rainy, with a heavy gale on the 8th, blowing for two hours from the north. On the 15th a very heavy gale also from the north, and accompanied by rain commenced in the evening.
It was felt on both coasts, and the following are the results as registered at 9.30 a.m. on the 16th:β
- Christchurch, 442 miles wind, 0.222 in. rain.
- Bealey, 322 miles wind, 4.150 in. rain.
- Hokitika, 649 miles wind, 1.460 in. rain.
