PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by a Proclamation, dated
the Twenty-ninth day of October,
One thousand eight hundred and sixty-four,
the ‘Town of Kaiapoi’ was constituted a
Municipal District under the “Municipal
Council Ordinance, Session XIV., No. 2.”
And whereas the Council duly elected
under the provisions of the said Ordinance
for the said district have agreed to levy a
Rate of One Shilling in the Pound:
Now, therefore, I, FRANCIS EDWARD
STEWART, Deputy-Superintendent of the
Province of Canterbury, do hereby, with
the advice of the Executive Council, signify
my assent to the levying of the said Rate.
PUBLIC NOTICE.
THE Offices of the Provincial Govern-
ment will be CLOSED on MONDAY,
the 25th Instant, in honour of the Birthday
of Her Majesty the Queen.
