REMARKS.

CHRISTCHURCH.

During the first ten days of the month the weather was dry, and very warm for the season, with gales of wind from N.W. on the 2nd and 4th. From the 11th to the 17th pleasant spring weather prevailed, cool cloudy days, and frequent seasonable showers of rain. The remainder of the month was of the same general character as in the beginning, but not so hot, namely, bright sunny days, and occasional strong north-westerly winds. A sharp frost occurred on the night of the 20th, and slight showers of hail fell on the 13th, 17th, and 26th. Sheet lightning was observed on several evenings.
