HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that a Writ, calling for the election of a Member to serve in the Provincial Council for the Ashburton District, has been returned to him with the endorsement that

has been duly elected.

to be Inspector of Diseased Cattle for the district of Westland; the appointment to take effect on and after the 12th instant.

In the matter of the “Debtors and Creditors Acts;” and

In the matter of the petition of John Burke and Patrick McHugh both of Hokitika in the Province of Canterbury lately carrying on business together there and at Charleston in the Province of Nelson as drapers under the style or firm of “Burke & McHugh” debtors;

and

In the matter of the estate of the said debtors.

NOTICE is hereby given that the above-named debtors have presented and filed their petition for relief under the Debtors and Creditors Acts and Tuesday the Twenty-sixth day of November instant at the Supreme Court House Hokitika at ten o’clock in the forenoon has been appointed for hearing the said petition at which time and place all parties concerned are to attend.

Dated this 4th day of November, 1867.
