Town of Okarita East.
All that piece or parcel of land containing 320 acres, more or less, situate at Okarita, on the north-east side of the lagoon, having a frontage of about 100 chains to the lagoon, the northern boundary being a line at right angles to the eastern shore of the lagoon, and the eastern boundary being a line at right angles to the northern boundary, to include the above quantity.
Town of Okarita North.
All that piece or parcel of land containing 320 acres, more or less, situate at Okarita, being bounded on the south by the lagoon, on the north by the sea coast, and on the east by a line at right angles to the sea coast to contain the quantity required, subject to the Native Reserve.
Town of Okarita South.
All that piece or parcel of land containing 320 acres, more or less, situate at Okarita, on the west side of the lagoon, having frontage of about 100 chains to the lagoon, the south-western boundary being a line at right angles to the general direction of the coast, and the south-eastern boundary being a line at right angles to the last described boundary, and to include the above quantity, subject to the Native Reserve.

PROCLAMATION
All land within the Township of Hokitika, which at the time of the withdrawal of such land from the Gold-fields, was lawfully occupied, and had upon it buildings of the value of not less than Twenty-five Pounds sterling (£25) shall be offered to the person in lawful occupation of such land at a fixed price, and I do hereby fix the price at which such land shall be so offered for sale at One Pound sterling (£1) per foot frontage for all the land within the block bounded on the East by FitzGerald-street and Fitzherbert-street, and on the North by Hampden-street, where the depth does not exceed one chain; and One Pound Ten Shillings sterling (£1 10s.) for all land in such block, the depth of which shall exceed one chain; and at Ten Shillings sterling (10s.) per foot frontage for all such land outside such block, and I do hereby offer such land as aforesaid at the respective prices aforesaid to the persons in lawful occupation thereof.

Persons desirous of accepting the above offer must signify their acceptance to the Secretary for the Gold-fields in writing, and must state the sections of land in respect of which they accept the offer, and must show that they are entitled to purchase such sections under the 10th Section of “The Canterbury Waste Lands Act, 1866.”
The following are the terms of Section X of “The Canterbury Waste Lands Act, 1866:”—
Whenever any land within a proclaimed township in the Province of Canterbury heretofore has been or hereafter shall be withdrawn from any gold field for the purpose of sale it shall be lawful for the Superintendent upon the recommendation of the Provincial Council to declare by proclamation in the Provincial Government Gazette that any part of such land which shall at the time of such withdrawal be lawfully occupied and have upon it buildings of the value of not less than twenty-five pounds shall be offered for sale to the person in lawful occupation of such land at a fixed price and upon the like recommendation to fix the price at which such land shall be so offered. If such offer be accepted in writing within two months after a notice thereof shall have been published in the Provincial Government Gazette it shall be lawful for the Waste Lands Board to sell such land to such person at such fixed price: Provided that every such sale shall except as regards the price take place upon the conditions in reference to the sale of Town lands prescribed in the Waste Lands Act.
