HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that a writ, calling for an election to be held for the return of a member to serve in the Provincial Council for the Town of Lyttelton, has been returned to him, with the endorsement that

Christchurch, May 27, 1867.

HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that he has made the following Reserves, temporarily, under the 19th Clause of the Waste Land Regulations; viz.—

No. 809, in red.—Three roods and thirty perches, more or less, situate in the Town of Greymouth, commencing at a point on the eastern side of the Preston Road, the same being situate twenty-eight chains three links from the south-western corner of section 229; thence southerly, following the said road a distance of five chains, and extending back easterly at right angles, having a depth of two chains on the northern and one chain seventy-five links on the southern boundaries, respectively, being bounded on the eastward by a straight line—For a Slaughter-yard.

No. 810, in red.—Sixty acres, more or less, situate at Wairewa, bounded on the south-east by the said Lake, on the westward by the Tramway Reserve, and also by a road leading to the beach; on the southward by a line drawn at right angles to the western edge of the Lake, from a point thereon situate about thirty-nine chains from its mouth; and on the northward by a line parallel to the southern boundary, so as to contain the above quantity—For a Timber Depot and Tramway.

SALE OF TOWN AND RURAL LANDS.

HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that he has fixed Monday, the Eighth day of July, 1867, at the hour of noon, at a sitting of the Waste Lands Board, in the Land Office, at Christchurch, as the time and place when a sale by auction of Town and Rural Land shall take place in accordance with clause 24 and clause 35 of the Waste Lands Regulations, subject to the usual conditions of sale, and in conformity with the Regulations for the disposal, sale, letting, and occupation of the Waste Lands of the Crown now in force within the Province of Canterbury.
