will be closed on Monday the 24th and Tuesday the 25th instant, and on Tuesday the 1st January, 1867.

NOTICE.
In the Supreme Court of New Zealand,
CANTERBURY DISTRICT.
In the matter of the “Debtors and Creditors Acts;”
HIS Honor Henry Barnes Gresson, Esq.,
the Judge presiding in this Honorable Court, has appointed that the Court shall sit for the despatch of business accruing under the provisions of the above mentioned Acts, at the Court House, Christchurch, on Wednesday, the Twentieth day of February next, at eleven o’clock in the forenoon.

To William Swanson and Marcus Ryrie,
trading as “Swanson and Ryrie,” bonded warehouse keepers; Joseph Philip Klein,
jeweller; C. Hansen; and Max Mendershausen, tobacconist; all of Hokitika, in the province of Canterbury, and colony of New Zealand,
GREETING:
WHEREAS an action is now pending in our Supreme Court of New Zealand in the Westland district between Frederick William Heinecke and William Fox trading under the style or firm of “F. W. Heinecke and Co.” of Melbourne in the colony of Victoria merchants plaintiffs and Alwin Pahn late of Hokitika in the Westland district aforesaid tobacconist defendant
And in order that the plaintiffs may proceed in the said action we command that you detain and keep all and singular the moneys and chattels bills bonds and other property of whatsoever nature in the custody or under your control at the time of the service of this writ belonging to the above named Alwin Pahn or to or in which such defendant shall be legally or equitably entitled or otherwise beneficially interested
And we command you that you and each of you keep the same safely to answer the judgment of the said Court thereon...
