In the matter of "The Debtors and Creditors Act, 1862," and

In the matter of the "Debtors and Creditors Act Amendment Act, 1865," and

In the matter of the Petition of William Verrall a debtor.

This 11th day of May, 1866.

Upon the application of Doctor Foster of counsel for the said petitioner the above named William Verrall after reading the said petition purporting to be signed by the said petitioner and to be concurred in by Aikman and Wilson of Christchurch in the said Province of Canterbury land and estate agents and Harry Stace of Ferry Road near Christchurch aforesaid creditors to the extent of not less than fifty pounds sterling in the whole and also certain schedules attached thereto and also an affidavit of the said petitioner to the said petition annexed and therewith filed the Nineteenth day of October One thousand eight hundred and sixty-five pursuant to the said Debtors and Creditors Act 1862 and after reading an order of this Honorable Court made in the matter of the said petition on the twenty-first day of October One thousand eight hundred and sixty five it appearing to this Honorable Court that notice was not given in the Government Gazette of the Province within which proceedings were taken of the day appointed by the said order for the hearing of such petition fourteen days before the day so appointed and upon Dr Foster of counsel for the said petitioner undertaking to file an affidavit that such non-publication was caused by inadvertence this Court doth hereby discharge the said order of the Twenty-first day of October last and being satisfied of the truth of the matters contained in the said petition and this Court doth hereby appoint Wednesday the Twenty-seventh day of June next at eleven o’clock in the forenoon for the hearing of the said petition and the proof of debts and claims of creditors at the Court House Christchurch aforesaid and this Court doth hereby grant an ad interim order of sequestration of the estate and effects of the said petitioner and doth direct that the estate and effects of the said petitioner shall be taken and held by Henry Fowle Seager of Christchurch aforesaid Printer as Receiver under the said Acts hereby appointed by the Court subject to such further order of the Court as may be made under or in pursuance of the provisions of the said Acts and this Court doth hereby declare to be a Vesting Order pursuant to section 8 of the said "Debtors and Creditors Act Amendment Act 1865."

Upon the application of Doctor Foster of counsel for the said petitioner James Woodford and after reading the said petition purporting to be signed by the said petitioner such Debtor as aforesaid and to be concurred in by George Brooker of the Lord Zetland Hotel Cashel Street Christchurch in the Province of Canterbury a creditor to the extent of not less than fifty pounds sterling in the whole and also certain schedules and also an affidavit to the said petition annexed and therewith filed the Nineteenth day of May One thousand eight hundred and sixty-six pursuant to the said Acts This Court being satisfied of the truth of the matters contained in the said petition doth hereby grant an ad interim order of sequestration of the estate and effects of the said petitioner and doth direct that the estate and effects of the said petitioner shall be taken and held by Henry Fowle Seager of Christchurch aforesaid Accountant as Receiver under the said Acts hereby appointed by the Court subject to such further order of the Court as may be made under or in pursuance of the provisions of the said Acts and this Court doth hereby appoint Wednesday the Twenty-seventh day of June next at eleven o’clock in the forenoon for the hearing of the said petition and the proofs of debts and claims of creditors at the Court House Christchurch aforesaid and this order is hereby declared to be a vesting order pursuant to section 8 of the said "Debtors and Creditors Act Amendment Act 1865."
