HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that, pursuant to Clause 12 of the “Roads Ordinance Amendment Ordinance, 1866,” he has been pleased to appoint
Francis PAVITT, Esq.,
to make the alterations in the Ratepayers’ Roll for the Avon and Riccarton Road Districts as required by the said Ordinance.

In the matter of the Petition of William Cochrane, of the Lagoon, near Hokitika, in the Province of Canterbury, Packer, a debtor.
NOTICE is hereby given that the above-named petitioner, William Cochrane, on the First day of February instant, with the concurrence of Martin Kennedy, of Greymouth, Storekeeper, a creditor of the said William Cochrane, to the extent of not less than fifty pounds, presented and filed his petition for the sequestration of his estate for the benefit of his creditors, and for relief according to the provisions of the “Debtors’ and Creditors’ Act, 1862,” and the “Debtors’ and Creditors’ Act Amendment Act, 1865;” and that the said petition has been accepted by His Honor Mr. Justice Gresson, who has appointed Monday, the Thirtieth day of July next, at eleven o’clock in the forenoon, at the Supreme Court House, Hokitika, for the hearing of the said petition, at which time and place all parties concerned are to attend.
