Provincial Secretary’s Office,
Christchurch, Dec. 2, 1865.
HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that he has made the following reserves, in accordance with the recommendation of the Provincial Council, viz:—
No. 624, in red.—Two acres, more or less,
situate in Pigeon Bay, commencing at a point on the eastern boundary of section No. 171, the same being four chains north of the south-eastern corner of that section; following northerly along the said boundary a distance of four chains thirty-three links, and extending back easterly a like distance of four chains thirty-three links, in a rectangular block; subject to pre-emptive right, No. 310 — for the purposes of a Cemetery.
No. 628, in red.—Twenty acres, more or less,
situate in the Mandeville District, bounded on the northward by the Harewood-road by Rangiora, on the eastward by the road forming the western boundary of reserve, No. 170 (in red), on the southward by section 9802, on the south-eastward by the road forming the south-eastern boundary of that section, and on the westward by a line at right angles to the first-mentioned road, so as to include the above quantity—for a School Site.
No. 629, in red.—Nine acres, more or less,
situate in the Oxford District, bounded on the northward by the road on the south side of section 6990, on the eastward by the continuation of the road forming the western boundary of section 7346, on the southward by the Harewood-road by Rangiora, and on the westward by the road on the east side of section 5987—for Gravel Pit.

This 24th day of November 1865.
UPON the application of Mr. Macfarlane Counsel for the said petitioner James Gillan after reading the said petition purporting to be signed by the said petitioner such debtor as aforesaid and to be concurred in by James McGill of Christchurch aforesaid horse-dealer and Daniel McGuinness of Christchurch aforesaid carter being creditors to the extent of not less than fifty pounds sterling in the whole and also certain schedules and also an affidavit of the said James Gillan to the said petition annexed and therewith filed the Twenty-second day of November instant pursuant to the said Acts this Court being satisfied of the truth of the matters contained in the said petition doth hereby grant an ad interim order of sequestration of the estate and effects of the said James Gillan and doth direct that the estate and effects of the said James Gillan be taken and held by William Baines of Christchurch aforesaid commission agent as Receiver under the said Acts hereby appointed by the Court subject to such further order of the Court as may be made under or in pursuance of the said Acts And the Court doth hereby appoint Monday the Eighteenth day of December next at eleven o’clock in the forenoon for the hearing of such petition and proof of debts and claims of creditors at the Court-house Christchurch aforesaid And the Court doth also further order and grant an ad interim order of protection to protect the person and estate of the said James Gillan from arrest execution or other legal process until further order of the Court And this order is hereby declared to be a vesting order pursuant to section 8 of the said Debtors’ and Creditors’ Act Amendment Act 1865.
