In the matter of the estate of Thomas Hood Brown of Kainera Town in the Province of Canterbury in the Colony of New Zealand miner a debtor; and
In the matter of the petition of the said debtor.

This 22nd day of August 1865.

Upon the application of Mr. Slater of Counsel for the said petitioner Thomas Hood Brown after reading the said petition purporting to be signed by the said petitioner such debtor as aforesaid and to be concurred in by Joshua Gibson merchant and Henry Charles Maudy law clerk both of Hokitika in the said Province creditors to the extent of not less than fifty pounds in the whole and also certain schedules and also an affidavit to the said petition annexed and therewith filed the Nineteenth day of August pursuant to the said Act this Court being satisfied of the truth of the matters contained in the said petition doth hereby grant an ad interim order of sequestration of the estate and effects of the said Thomas Hood Brown and doth direct that the estate and effects of the said Thomas Hood Brown shall be taken and held by Henry Fowle Seager of Christchurch printer as Receiver under the said Act hereby appointed by the Court subject to such further order of the Court as may be made under or in pursuance of the provisions of this Act and this Court doth hereby appoint Wednesday the Twentieth day of September next at eleven o'clock in the forenoon for the hearing of such petition and the proof of debts and claims of creditors at the Court House Christchurch aforesaid. And this Court doth also further order and grant an ad interim order of protection to protect the person and estate of the said Benjamin Bond Leathwick from arrest execution or other legal process until further order of this Court.

Upon the application of Mr. Garrick of Counsel for the said petitioner Richard Kyffin Kenrick after reading the said petition purporting to be signed by the said petitioner such debtor as aforesaid and also certain schedules and also an affidavit to the said petition annexed and therewith filed on the Twenty-fourth instant pursuant to the said Act this Court being satisfied of the truth of the matters contained in the said petition doth hereby grant an ad interim order of sequestration of the estate and effects of the said Richard Kyffin Kenrick and doth direct that the estate and effects of the said Richard Kyffin Kenrick shall be taken and held by Henry Fowle Seager of Christchurch printer as Receiver under the said Act hereby appointed by the Court subject to such further order of the Court as may be made under or in pursuance of the provisions of the said Act. And this Court doth hereby appoint Wednesday the Twentieth day of September next at eleven o'clock in the forenoon for the hearing of such petition and the proof of debts and claims of creditors at the Court House at Christchurch aforesaid.
