No. 424, in red.—Four hundred and
seventy acres, more or less, situate in
the Malvern district, commencing at
the intersection of the road north-west
of the gorge hill estate with the
Tramway Reserve, following that
reserve in a south-easterly direction
a distance of forty-two chains fifty
links, thence south-westerly following
a straight line to a point on the
southern bank of the River Hawkins,
the same being twenty-six chains
west of the north-western corner of
section No. 8040, thence south-westerly following a line parallel to
the north-western boundary of that
section, a distance of forty chains,
thence westerly following a straight
line to the south-eastern corner of
section No. 3719, following northerly
along the eastern boundary of that
section to the road first before-mentioned, and from thence returning
along that road to the commencing
point—for the uses of the Provincial
Government, and for other public
purposes.

No. 425, in red.—Sixty-five acres, more
or less, situate in the Malvern Dis-trict, being bounded on the north by
Porter’s Pass road, on the east by
section No. 6471, on the south by a
line in continuation of the southern
boundary of that section, and on the
west by I.P.R.C. on Run No. 130,
and a line in continuation of the
eastern boundary of the same—for
the uses of the Provincial Government, and other public purposes.

No. 426, in red.—One hundred and fifty
acres, more or less, situate at Craigie
Burn, being bounded on the north
by Reserve No. 887, and a line in
continuation of the south-western
boundary of the same reserve, on the
north-west by a line in continuation
of the north-western boundary of
Reserve No. 205, on the south-east
by the Craigie Burn, and on the
south-west by the before-mentioned
Reserve No. 205—for the uses of the
Provincial Government, and other
public purposes.

In the matter of “The Debtors’ and Creditors’ Act, 1862;” and

In the matter of the Estate of George
Gibson Adams of Lyttelton in the
Province of Canterbury in the Colony
of New Zealand aforesaid butcher a
debtor not in custody and.

In the matter of the Petition of the said debtor.

In Chambers:

This 1st day of August 1865.

Upon the application of Mr. Wilcocks
Counsel for the said petitioner
George Gibson Adams after reading the said
petition purporting to be signed by the said
petitioner such debtor as aforesaid and to be
concurred in by John Day of Christchurch
in the province aforesaid hotel-keeper a
creditor to the extent of not less than fifty
pounds in the whole and also certain schedules
and also an affidavit of the said petition
annexed and therewith filed on the twenty-seventh day of July last pursuant to the
said Act this Court being satisfied of the
truth of the matters contained in the said
petition doth hereby grant an ad interim
order of sequestration of the estate and
effects of the said George Gibson Adams
and doth direct that the estate and effects of the said George Gibson Adams
shall be taken and held by Henry Fowle
Seager printer as Receiver under the said
Act hereby appointed by the Court subject
to such further order of the Court as may
be made under or in pursuance of the provisions of the said Act and this Court doth
hereby appoint Wednesday the Twentieth
day of September next at eleven o’clock in
the forenoon for the hearing of such petition
and the proofs of debts and claims of creditors at the Court-House Christchurch aforesaid and the Court doth also further order
and grant an ad interim order of protection
to protect the person and estate of the said
George Gibson Adams from arrest execution
or legal process until further orders of this
Court.

NOTICE is hereby given that in pursuance of the Public-house Ordinance, 1863, a Quarterly Meeting of Justices
of the Peace was held at the Resident Magistrate’s Court, Christchurch, on the Fourth
day of July instant, at the hour of eleven o’clock, for the purpose of considering applications for licenses.

The following applications for Public-house Licenses were granted:—

Barnard, W. David; Horse Repository, Christchurch.

Clarke, Samuel; Oxford terrace, Christchurch.
