PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by an Ordinance of the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Canterbury, intituled the “Trespass of Cattle Ordinance, Session XIV., No. 1,” it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Superintendent to cause Public Pounds to be erected and maintained within the said Province: Now, therefore, I, SAMUEL BEALEY, Superintendent of the said Province, in pursuance of the Provisions of the above recited Ordinance and of all other powers enabling me on that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the place or enclosure erected upon the Ferry Reserve, in the Town of Kaiapoi, in the said Province, shall be deemed and taken to be a Public Pound within the meaning of the above recited Ordinance.
Given under my hand at Christchurch, this Second day of March, One thousand eight hundred and sixty-four.
