In the matter of Joseph Wicks, heretofore of Rangiora, in the Province of Canterbury, farmer, and now of the Northern Hotel, Kaiapoi, in the Province aforesaid, publican, a debtor, not in custody. Adjourned hearing.
In the matter of Isaiah Archer, of Christchurch, in the Province of Canterbury, carpenter, and William Edwards, of Christchurch aforesaid, carpenter, trading under the style or firm of “Archer and Edwards,” debtors, not in custody.
In the matter of Elijah Gadd, of the Heathcote District, in the Province of Canterbury, stonemason, a debtor, not in custody.
In the matter of Donald Coutts, heretofore of Kaiapoi, in the Province of Canterbury, settler, then of Southland, in the Province of Southland, in lodgings, and now of Kaiapoi aforesaid, settler, a debtor, not in custody.
In the matter of William Lord, of Christchurch, in the Province of Canterbury, green-grocer, a debtor, not in custody.

In the matter of the Petition of the said Charles Shepard.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Court hath appointed Tuesday, the Fifteenth day of November next, at eleven o’clock in the forenoon, at the Court House, in the City of Christchurch, for the hearing of the said petition and the proof of debts and claims of creditors.

IN THE SUPREME COURT OF NEW ZEALAND,

In the matter of “The Debtors’ and Creditors’ Act, 1862;” and
In the matter of the petition of Isaiah Archer, of Christchurch, in the Province of Canterbury, carpenter, and William Edwards, of Christchurch, aforesaid, carpenter trading under the style or firm of “Archer and Edwards,” debtors, not in custody.
This Twenty-ninth day of July, 1864.
UPON the application of Mr. Moorhouse, of Counsel for the said petitioners, Isaiah Archer and William Edwards, purporting to be signed by the said petitioners, such debtors as aforesaid, and to be concurred in by Thomas William Gourley, of Christchurch, aforesaid, ironmonger, Thomas Keogh, of Christchurch, aforesaid, carpenter, and Joseph Cockroft, of Christchurch, aforesaid, watchmaker, respectively creditors to the extent of not less than fifty pounds sterling in the whole; and also certain schedules, and also an affidavit of the said Isaiah Archer and William Edwards, to the said petition annexed, and therewith filed the Twenty-eighth day of July instant, pursuant to the said Act: this Court being satisfied of the truth of the matters contained in the said petition, doth hereby grant an ad interim order of sequestration of the joint estate and effects of the said Isaiah Archer and William Edwards; and doth direct that the said joint estate and effects of the said Isaiah Archer and William Edwards be taken and held by Henry Fowle Seager, of Christchurch, aforesaid, printer, as Receiver under the said Act, hereby appointed by the Court, subject to such further order of the Court as may be made under or in pursuance of the said Act: and this Court doth hereby appoint the Fifteenth day of August next, at eleven o’clock in the forenoon, for the hearing of such petition and the proof of debts and claims of creditors, at the Court house, Christchurch, aforesaid: and this Court doth also further order and grant an ad interim order of protection to protect the persons and joint estate of the said Isaiah Archer and William Edwards from arrest, execution, or other legal processes, until further order of this Court.
