SHIP “DAVID G. FLEMING.”
The Immigration Commissioners were much pleased with all the compartments of the ship “David G. Fleming.” The immigrants were in good health, and the ’tween decks clean.
The Commissioners especially remarked the appearance of good humour throughout, and the general expression of satisfaction at the rations and arrangements of the ship. Only three deaths of young children had occurred.
The Commissioners recommend that all the Officers of the ship receive their gratuities.
(Signed) WM. DONALD, Chairman.
JOHN T. ROUSE.
F. E. WRIGHT.
SHIP “BROTHERS’ PRIDE.”
The Immigration Commissioners on going alongside the ship “Brothers’ Pride,” ascertained that the unusual number of forty-six deaths had occurred. The Surgeon stated that scarlatina maligna, typhus and low fever, had prevailed, and that there were several cases still under treatment.
The ship being placed in Quarantine, the Commissioners were unable to make any inspection.
