HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that he has been pleased to appoint the following gentlemen to act as Commissioners to determine the best landing place at Timaru, and to enquire into the feasibility of erecting a screw pile pier there:

HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that a Writ calling for the election of a Member to serve in the Provincial Council for the District of Kaiapoi has been returned, with an endorsement to the effect that

has been duly elected.

IN THE SUPREME COURT OF NEW ZEALAND, CANTERBURY DISTRICT.
In the matter of the Debtors’ and Creditors’ Act, 1862.
In the matter of the co-partnership firm of William Baines and Harry Daniel Manning, trading under the name or style of Baines and Manning, mail contractors, at Christchurch and Timaru, both in the Province of Canterbury, in the Colony of New Zealand, and in the matter of the petition of Edwin Cuff, a creditor.
Notice is hereby given that on the sixteenth day of November instant, an ad interim order of sequestration of the estate and effects of the above named co-partnership firm was issued out of this court, and Tuesday the fifteenth day of December next at eleven o’clock in the forenoon, was appointed for the hearing of the said petition, at the Court House, Christchurch, at which time and place the said Debtors are to appear in person before the court.
