HIS Honor the Superintendent directs the following notification to be published for general information.

Provincial Secretary.

I, Samuel Bealey, Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, in pursuance of the powers vested in me by the 19th clause of the Waste Lands Regulations, in force within the said Province, do hereby, upon the recommendation of the Provincial Council, make the following Reserves, in the town of Timaru, for public purposes, namely:—

Sections numbered 23, 24, 99, 100, 101, 102, 103, 104, 113, 114, 115, 116, 121, 122, 123, 127, 128, 131, 132, 133, 134, 135, 136, 147, 148, 191, 192, 198, 199, 232, 233, 317, 318, 362 and 363; and one block of land containing 2 acres 2 roods, and numbered (in red) 204; also Sections numbered 25, 26, 30 and 31 on the map of the Chief Surveyor of the Province of Canterbury.

has resigned his seat in the Provincial Council as Member for the Town of Kaiapoi.

PUBLIC NOTICE.

NO Payments will be made at the Treasury on TUESDAY, the 31st March, as the Office will be closed to balance the quarter’s accounts.

ORDER IN COUNCIL,

Bringing the “Crown Lands Act, 1862,” into operation.

G. GREY, Governor, at the Government House, at Auckland, the 28th day of February, 1863. Present, His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled “The Crown Lands Act, 1862,” it is enacted that the said Act shall come into operation in each Province of New Zealand on and from a day to be fixed by the Governor in Council, to be notified in the ‘Government Gazette’ of the Colony, and also of the
