declared to be public footpaths, and from and after the date hereof shall be deemed and taken accordingly to be public footpaths within the meaning of the said Ordinance.

The said footpaths are as follows:—

Worcester Street, both sides, from Oxford Terrace, round both sides Cathedral Square to Manchester Street.

Manchester Street, from Tuam Street to South Drain, east side.

Selwyn Street, both sides, from Lincoln Road to South Belt.

Oxford Terrace, from Worcester Street to Gloucester Street, west side.

Barbadoes Street, both sides, from Cambridge Terrace to Church of England Cemetery.

Barbadoes Street South, west side, from Ferry Road to South Belt, east side, from Catholic Chapel to Belt.

SALE OF TOWN & RURAL LANDS.

Christchurch, 6th July, 1863.

HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that he has fixed Thursday, the 6th day of August, 1863, at the hour of Noon, at a sitting of the Waste Lands Board, in the Land Office, at Christchurch, as the time and place when a Sale by Auction of Town and Rural Lands shall take place in accordance with Clause 24 and Clause 35 of the Waste Lands Regulations, subject to the usual conditions of sale, and in conformity with the Regulations for the Disposal, Sale, Letting, and Occupation of the Waste Lands of the Crown, now in force within the Province of Canterbury.

Applications will be received by the Waste Lands Board on and up to Thursday, the 16th day of July, 1863.

A Schedule of the sections of land to be offered will be published at least ten days beforehand in accordance with clause 29 of the Waste Lands Regulations.

PROCLAMATION.

SAMUEL BEALEY, Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, in pursuance of the Waste Lands Regulations of the said Province, do hereby Reserve until the next Session of the Provincial Council:

1st. All that piece or parcel of land, containing ten acres, more or less, situate in the Lyttelton district, being bounded on the north by the ridge running down from Mount Pleasant, on the west by Section No. 1963, on the south by Section No. 258, and on the east by P. R. No. 205, and numbered 276, in red, on the authenticated maps of the Province, for the purpose of a range for rifle practice.

2nd. All that piece or parcel of land containing five acres, more or less, situate in the Arrowtown township, having about five chains frontage to the railway reserve, and extending back easterly a distance on the average of ten chains south of and adjoining the main road, passing through the township from east to west, and numbered
