✨ Provincial Government Notices
SHIP "MERMAID."
The Commissioners were satisfied with the arrangements on board the "Mermaid," excepting that the Female Hospital was much too small for the number of immigrants, and imperfectly lighted and ventilated.
The Medical Officer reported to the Commissioners that there was no disease on board of any consequence. A case of ship fever was sent on shore, evidently of some days duration.
The Commissioners considered the Surgeon blameable for not informing them of the existence of fever.
The Officers of the ship and Matron appear to have carefully performed their duties.
Signed, WILLIAM DONALD,
JOHN T. ROUSE
