HIS Honor the Superintendent directs the publication of the following notice:

CHRISTCHURCH MUNICIPAL COUNCIL.

We, the undersigned, being ten or more of the persons who signed the petition for the constitution of a Municipal Council for the Town and District of Christchurch, do hereby convene a Public Meeting of the Householders and others who are entitled to vote in the Election of Members of the Provincial Council for the said town and district, to assemble in the Town Hall, Christchurch, on Thursday evening, the 27th February, 1862, at the hour of Seven o’clock, to elect Nine Municipal Councillors for the said Municipality, in pursuance of the provisions of the Municipal Council Ordinance, Session XIV., No. 2.

NOTICE is hereby given that Messrs. Ward & Reeves have entered into a Contract to Print for the Provincial Government for the year ending 31st December, 1862.

A Tender was also received from Mr. James Willis.

These Tenders can be seen on application at the Provincial Secretary’s Office, at any time during office hours.

HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that the duties of Provincial Treasurer will be resumed by Mr. C. C. Bowen on the 1st of March next.
