Provincial Secretary’s Office,
Christchurch, 9th December, 1862.

HIS Honor the Superintendent directs the publication of the following Report for general information.

REPORT OF IMMIGRATION COMMISSIONERS.

Ship "Chrysolite."

The Commissioners report that the ship "Chrysolite" was generally well arranged, and in good order and condition. They were particularly pleased with the arrangement of the Hospital in the deck house.

They regret that the Store Room was so situated that the entrance was in (or close to) the single women’s compartment. An attempt had been made to obviate this by an inner door, but the separation was not complete nor satisfactory.

The officers of the ship, surgeon, schoolmaster, and matron, appear to have exerted themselves to the best of their ability.

(Signed) WM. DONALD.
WM. REEVES.
H. S. McKELLAR.
JOHN T. ROUSE.
