  1. To keep a lamp burning, with two
    burners, from sunset to sunrise, giv-
    ing a sufficiently bright light, and
    being so lighted as not to be visible
    from the south bank of the river
    Waitangi.
    10, 11, 12. Same as in James Sawyer
    Fitch's licence.
  2. To keep at all times a safe ferry-boat
    (punt) in good working order, and
    ready for conveyance of passengers
    across the Waitangi at all reasonable
    times between the hours of sunrise
    and sunset. The fares for passen-
    gers, stock, sheep, drays, horses,
    &c., to be double the rates charged
    at Newton and Vincent's Ferry, on
    the Rakaia, subject to revision at
    the next licensing meeting. Officers
    of the Supreme Court, magistrates
    and police constables on duty and
    prisoners to be ferried free of charge.
    To afford every assistance in his
    power in directing strangers to a
    safe fording across the river.
    14, 15, 16. Same as in James Sawyer
    Fitch's licence.

YOUNG, JOHN ALBERT, Arowenua,
"Young's Accommodation House."

  1. All the premises to be kept in good
    repair. To provide in his house,
    besides the tap room or room
    answering as such, one private
    sitting room.
  2. Not less than twelve beds for travel-
    lers, in not less than five separate
    bed rooms.
    3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, same as in
    James Sawyer Fitch's licence.
  3. To keep at all times a safe ferry boat
    (punt) in good working order, and
    ready for conveyance of passengers
    across the Arowenua at all reason-
    able times between the hours of
    sunrise and sunset. The fare for
    passengers to be sixpence each when
    the rope can be used for working
    the punt, and one shilling each
    when the rope cannot be used, and
    for every horse two shillings.
    Officers of the Supreme Court.
    magistrates and police constables
    on duty and prisoners to be ferried
    free of charge; and to keep a printed
    or fairly written copy of the charges
    posted in some conspicuous place.
    The remaining conditions, Nos. 14 and
    following, are the same as in James
    Sawyer Fitch's licence.

DEAN, JOSEPH HENRY, North Bank of
Tumuka, Arowenua.

  1. The same as in James Sawyer Fitch's
    licence.
  2. Not less than six beds for travellers,
    in not less than four separate bed
    rooms.
    The remaining conditions, Nos. 3 and
    following, are the same as in James
    Sawyer Fitch's licence.

BUTTERWORTH, WILLIAM, Oparwa
River.

  1. Same as in James Sawyer Fitch's
    licence.
  2. Not less than six beds for travellers,
    in not less than four separate bed
    rooms.
    The remaining conditions, No. 3 and
    following, are the same as in James
    Sawyer Fitch's licence.

JONES, WILLIAM BENJAMIN, Markiki.

  1. Same as James Sawyer Fitch's licence.
  2. Not less than six beds for travellers,
    in not less than four separate bed-
    rooms.
    The remaining conditions, No. 3 and
    following, the same as in James
    Sawyer Fitch's licence.

NOCNAN, JAMES, Cabbage Tree Creek,
Burke's Pass.

  1. Same as in James Sawyer Fitch's
    licence.
  2. Not less than six beds for travellers,
    in not less than three separate bed-
    rooms.
    The remaining conditions, No. 3 and
    following, the same as in James
    Sawyer Fitch's licence.
