GIBBS, GEORGE, Accommodation House, the Point.

  1. All the premises to be kept in good repair. To provide in his house, besides the tap-room or room answering as such, one public sitting-room.
  2. Not less than six beds in not less than two separate bed-rooms.
    The remaining conditions, Nos. 3 and following, are the same as in James Sawyer Fitch's licence.

MARSHALL, ROBERT, River Rangitata, (south bank).

  1. All the premises to be kept in good repair. To provide in his house, besides the tap-room or room answering as such, one public sitting-room.
  2. Not less than six beds, in not less than two separate bed-rooms.
    3, and 4. Same as in James Sawyer Fitch's licence.
  3. To keep at all times a proper supply of oats and oaten or grass hay. Oats to be charged for to travellers not more than 9d. per imperial quart measure, and to provide himself with an imperial quart measure.
    6, and 7. Same as in James Sawyer Fitch's licence.
  4. Nil.
    9, 10, 11, 12. Same as in James Sawyer Fitch's licence.
  5. Conditions regarding the ferry over the Rangitata to stand as per special contract with the Provincial Government; officers of the Supreme Court, magistrates and police constables on duty and prisoners to be ferried free of charge. To afford every assistance in his power in directing strangers to a safe fording across the river.
    14, 15, and 16. Same as in James Sawyer Fitch's licence.

STRANKS, WILLIAM, River Orari, "Stranks's Accommodation House."

  1. All the premises to be kept in good repair. To provide in his house, besides the tap room or room answering as such, one public and one private sitting room.
  2. Not less than fourteen beds for travellers, in not less than four separate bed rooms.
  3. To provide a shed sufficiently weather tight, and fit for the accommodation of at least five horses.
    The remaining conditions, Nos. 4 and following, are the same as in James Sawyer Fitch's licence.

SMITH, DAVID, Waituna Creek, "Smith's Accommodation House."

  1. All the premises to be kept in good repair. To provide in his house, besides the tap room or room answering as such, one public and one private sitting room.
  2. Not less than ten beds for travellers, in not less than two separate bed rooms.
  3. To provide a shed sufficiently weather tight for the accommodation of at least seven horses.
    The remaining conditions, No. 4 and following, are the same as in James Sawyer Fitch's licence.

WARD, JOSEPH, Rangitata or Alford River, "Ward's Rangitata Accommodation House."

  1. All the premises to be kept in good repair. To provide in his house, besides the tap room or room answering as such, one public and one private sitting room.
  2. Not less than ten beds for travellers, in not less than three separate bed-rooms.
    3, and 4, same as in James Sawyer Fitch's licence.
  3. To keep at all times a proper supply of oats, and oaten or grass hay. Oats to be charged for to travellers at not more than ninepence per imperial quart measure and to provide himself with an imperial quart measure.
    6, and 7, same as in James Sawyer Fitch's licence.
  4. Nil.
  5. Not to keep a lamp burning at night outside the house.
    10, 11, 12, same as in James Sawyer Fitch's licence.
  6. To provide a horse, and be ready at all reasonable times between the hours of sunrise and sunset to convey passengers across the river Rangitata on horseback, at a charge not exceeding two shillings and sixpence each. To direct drivers of drays and other vehicles, and if required, to accompany them across the river at a charge of two shillings and sixpence each. To erect and maintain a flag pole 40 feet in height, and keep a sufficiently large flag flying thereon daily, from sunrise to sunset. The pole to be erected on the terrace immediately above the house, so as to indicate the fording place to persons from the northward. Officers of the Supreme Court, magistrates and police constables on duty and prisoners to be put across the river free of charge. To afford every assistance in his power in directing strangers to a safe fording across the river.
    14, 15, 16. Same as in James Sawyer Fitch's licence.

WILSON, HENRY, River Waitangi, "Wilson's Waitangi Accommodation House."

  1. All the premises to be kept in good repair. To provide in his house, besides the tap-room or room answering as such, one public and one private sitting room.
  2. Not less than 8 beds for travellers, in not less than four separate bed-rooms.
    3, 4, 5, 6, 7. Same as in James Sawyer Fitch's licence.
