NOTICE is hereby given, that the above Property will be submitted for Sale by Public Auction, on the 20th day of December, 1860, in lots to suit purchasers, at an upset price of £5 per acre.

The terms of sale to be half cash, and the remainder in approved bills, drawn at three and six months respectively.

Further information can be obtained upon application at the offices of Mr. Ollivier, Cashel and High Streets, Christchurch, in whose hands the sale of this land has been placed.

His Honor the Deputy-Superintendent directs it to be notified for public information, that in pursuance of the powers vested in him by the Waste Lands Regulations now in force within the Province of Canterbury, he has made the following Reserve of Land for the uses of the Provincial Government, and for other public purposes, temporarily, until the next session of the Provincial Council, viz.

Ten acres at Arowenua, bounded on the northward by a road on the southward of section 2630, a distance of about 10 chains, on the eastward by the south road, about 10 chains, and westward and southward in a rectangular block, to contain 10 acres, and numbered on the map of the Chief Surveyor 168 in red, for the purposes of a Cemetery at Arowenua.

Ten acres lying and situate on the southern side of Petit Carenage Bay, Akaroa, bounded on the north-east by the road reserve of 66 feet above high-water mark about 11½ chains and back to the south-westward about 9 chains on the average, the south-west and south-east angles being right angles, including a small bush reserved for wooding the whaling vessels.

The above to be reserved for the use of whaling vessels frequenting the Port of Akaroa.
