NOTICE OF WINE AND BEERHOUSE LICENCE CANCELLED.
Resident Magistrate’s Office,
Christchurch, August 5th, 1860.
In accordance with the provisions of the
"Public House Ordinance, No. 3, of
Session VI., 1856," notice is hereby given
that the Wine and Beer Licence granted at
the Annual Licensing Meeting held in May
last to Stephen Payne Smith, for the "Waimakariri Hotel," has been cancelled by the
Provincial Treasurer, as required by section
16 of the Ordinance, the licence not having
been applied for on or before the 1st day of
July last.

It is hereby notified for general information that Mr. Thomas Walker Wilkinson’s tender for the leasing of the portion of
Hagley Park lying between the Lincoln Road
and the Riccarton Road, from the plantation
to the creek, and the creek up to Mr. Washbourne’s boundary, for a period of seven
years, to commence from the 29th day of
September next, has been accepted.

I, CHARLES BOWEN, Deputy Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury,
in virtue of the powers vested in me by the
43rd clause of the Waste Lands Regulations
now in force within the said province, do
hereby reserve from sale the portions of land
hereinafter described, that is to say:—
Six hundred and forty acres, more or less,
for a township at Wairewa, Little River, bounded on the north by the native reserve, and a line in continuation of the southern boundary of the said reserve, 24 chains westerly and 60 chains easterly; on the east and west by
lines at right angles to the northern
boundary line, and on the south by a
road and the Little River and the eastern branch thereof.
The two following are reserved for
Churches schools and Cemeteries.
No. 166, in red.—Six acres, more or less,
situate at Kaituna, Banks Peninsula,
being bounded on the north-east and
south by the Kaituna River, and on the
westward by the base of the hills,
and lying between section 165 and section 2,649.
No. 167, in red.—Five acres, more or less,
situate on the point of land on Lake Ellesmere (Waihora), between Waikoka
and Price’s Bay, being bounded on the
north-west, south-west and south-east
by roads at the base of the hill, and on
the north-east by a line to contain 5
acres.
