HIS Honor the Superintendent prorogued the Provincial Council this day with the following
ADDRESS.
Mr. Speaker and Gentlemen of the Council,
I have to thank you for the alacrity with which you have responded to my call for your assistance, and to state that I shall use every effort to procure a realization of your determination regarding the railway.
The “Lyttelton and Christchurch Railway Loan Bill” and the “Lunatic Asylum and Gravel Pit Reserves Sales Bill,” I have the honor to reserve for the assent of his Excellency the Governor.
Gentlemen, your labours of this session being completed, I now declare this Council prorogued until Tuesday, the Thirtieth day of October next.

PROCLAMATION.
WILLIAM SEFTON MOORHOUSE,
Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, in exercise of the powers vested in me in that behalf, do hereby this day prorogue the Provincial Council of the said Province until the Thirtieth day of October next, and the said Provincial Council is hereby prorogued accordingly.
Given under my hand at Christchurch, this Sixth day of July, in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and sixty.
