hours from the time of such landing.
No gunpowder shall be removed from
the public Powder Magazine except by
authority of the Chief-Officer of the
Police Force in Lyttelton for the time
being.

church, this 28th day of Decem-

License to make or repair Arms, Gun-
powder, or other Warlike Stores.
Pursuant to the authority vested in
that behalf, I, A. B., Resident-Magis-
trate for the district of
arms, gunpowder, or other warlike
stores, for twelve calendar months from
the date hereof, on the conditions stated
in a Proclamation issued by the Super-
tendent of the Province of Canterbury,
on the twenty-eighth day of December,
1857.

French Magazine Reserve.

Christchurch, December 8th, 1857.
THE Provincial Government are pre-
pared to receive Tenders for the pur-
chase of the French Magazine Reserve
situate in Lavawd street, Akaroa, and the
buildings thereon.
The area of the reserve is 0A. 1R. 12P.
and the buildings are constructed of sub-
stantial materials.
All tenders must be in writing, addressed
to the Provincial Secretary, and must state
the amount the applicant is prepared to
give for the property. If the sum offered
in any tender be deemed sufficient by the
Government, the premises will be put up
to auction pursuant to the Ordinance.
Two months' notice of the time and place
of sale will be given.
