THE Deputy Superintendent directs the following notification to be published for general information.

I, CHARLES BOWEN, the Deputy-Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, in virtue of the powers vested in me by the 43rd clause of the Waste Lands' Regulations, now in force within the said Province, do hereby reserve from sale the portion of land hereinafter described, that is to say—
Fifty acres situate near Rangiora, having 12½ chains frontage to the Harewood Road, east of adjoining Section 444.
The whole of such land, or such part thereof as the Waste Lands Board shall adjudge to be granted to William Reeves, by way of payment for work done in accordance with a contract approved on the 26th day of September, 1857, for surveying and laying out the direct road from Kaiapoi to Rangiora; to be reserved till the 1st day of December next.
Forty acres more or less situate in Charteris bay, District of Lyttelton bounded on the northward by section 125 and 129, on the eastward by the stream running through the valley being about 11½ chains wide by 35 chains long, subject to Pre-emptive right No. 129.
The whole of such land, or such part thereof as the Waste Lands Board shall adjudge to be granted to John Chalmers, in part payment for work done in accordance with two contracts approved on the 2nd day of July, 1857, and the 15th day of July, 1857, respectively, for work to be done on the Sumner Road; to be reserved until the 1st day of November next.
