William John Warburton Hamilton,
Esq., J.P.,
to be a Resident Magistrate.

HIS HONOR THE SUPERINTENDENT directs the notification of the following appointments:—

William John Warburton Hamilton,
Esquire,
to be Commissioner of the Armed Police temporarily during the absence from the Province of Henry John Tancred, Esquire.

Charles Christopher Bowen,
Esquire,
(provisionally until Her Majesty’s pleasure be known) to be the Sheriff of the Province of Canterbury temporarily,

...during the absence from the said Province of Henry John Tancred, Esquire.

Joseph Brittan, Esquire,
to be the Keeper of the Public Records temporarily during the absence from this Province of Henry John Tancred, Esquire.

Christchurch, 22nd April, 1856.

I Hereby certify that Mr. Alexander Hillyard, at present of Kaiapoi, has in accordance with Ordinance, Session I, 1849, of New Munster, this day submitted to me his Diploma from the Company of Apothecaries of Dublin, constituting him a member of the said Company—together with a Diploma in Midwifery from the Coombe Lying-in-Hospital of Dublin.
