PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS I, James Edward
Fitz Gerald, Superintendent
of the Province of Canterbury, did on
the 23rd day of October last past, pro-
rogue the Provincial Council of the
said Province till Tuesday the 4th day
of March, 1856; and the said Provincial
Council did stand prorogued accord-
ingly: And whereas it is expedient
that the said Provincial Council should
meet before the said 4th day of March;
Now, therefore, I, James Edward
Fitz Gerald, in pursuance of the
powers vested in me in that behalf,
do hereby summon the said Provincial
Council to meet for the despatch of
business in the Council Chamber
at Christchurch, on Thursday the 28th
day of February next, at the hour of
Four oโ€™clock in the afternoon.

Given under my hand, this
eighteenth day of January,
one thousand eight hundred
and fifty-six, and sealed with
the public seal of the Pro-
vince.
