✨ Provincial Regulations and Bank Circulation Reports
the Importation, Sale, and Removal of Powder, Arms, and other warlike Stores: Now, therefore I, James Edward Fitz Gerald, Superintendent of the said Province, in pursuance of the Powers vested in me in that behalf, do hereby Proclaim and Declare that the following additional Regulation for the Importation and Sale of Arms, Gunpowder, and other warlike stores shall be in force within the said Province:—
"All acts required to be done by the Superintendent in respect to the sale, importation, or removal of arms, gunpowder, and other warlike stores, in virtue of any regulations now in force within the said Province shall during the absence of the said Superintendent from the said Province be done by the Provincial Secretary thereof."
Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Canterbury, at Christchurch, this eighteenth day of June, in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and fifty six.
