PROCLAMATION.
I, JAMES EDWARD FITZ GERALD, Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, do hereby, in pursuance of the powers vested in me in that behalf by the Regulations for the sale, letting and occupation of the Waste Lands of the Crown, Proclaim and Declare that the lands hereinafter described shall be reserved for the following purposes:—that is to say:—
(1.)—Ten acres (more or less) situated at Little Akaroa, Banks’ Peninsula, being bounded on the north-west by the Reserve of sixty-six feet above high water mark; on the South-west by Section 309 A; on the north-east by section 409; and on the south-east by a continuation of the Road running South-westerly through section 409 and numbered 90 on the authenticated Map in the Land Office, signed by the Chief Surveyor, setting out and describing the freehold land in Little Akaroa;—to be reserved for a Church and School.
(2.)—Fifty acres (more or less) included between the Salt Water Creek, the east boundary of the Great North Road, and the River Ashley:—to be reserved for the purpose of establishing and maintaining a Ferry and House of Accommodation at the Salt Water Creek.
Given under my hand this Sixteenth day of June One Thousand Eight Hundred and Fifty Six and Sealed with the Public Seal of the Province.
