year of Our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Fifty Five, hath been directed to me, Charles Simeon, Esq., as Returning officer for the Christchurch Country District in the said Province; requiring and commanding me to cause to be elected by and from amongst the voters duly qualified for that purpose, freely and indifferent-
ly, and in manner and form by law prescribed, Four Persons to serve as members of the Provincial Council for the Christchurch country District, NO W therefore I, the said Charles Simeon, Esq., as Returning Officer for the Christchurch Country District, do hereby in pursuance of the said recited Writ, give notice that a public meeting of the Electors of the Christchurch Country District will be held in the Market Place of the town of Christchurch, on Thursday, the 8th day of March next, at noon, for the purpose of nominating Four Persons to serve as members of the Provincial Council for the Christchurch Country District, and in the event of a poll being demanded for the candidates, or any of them, such polling shall take place on Saturday the 10th day of March next, in the lobby of the Provincial Council chamber, at Christchurch, in the police office at Lyttelton, and at Mr. Black's store, at Kaiapoi. The voting to commence at any time after nine o'clock, a.m., of the said day, and to close at four o'clock, p.m., of the same day.

WHEREAS a Writ under the hand of James Edward Fitz Gerald, Esq., Superintendent of the said Province, bearing date the 15th day of February, in the year of Our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Fifty Five, hath been directed to me, John Watson, Esq., as Returning Officer for the District of Akaroa, in the said Province, requiring and commanding me to cause to be elected by and from amongst the voters duly qualified for that purpose, freely and indifferently, and in manner and form by law prescribed, Two Persons to serve as members of the Provincial Council for the District of Akaroa, NOW therefore, I, the said John Watson, Esq., Returning Officer for the District of Akaroa, do hereby in pursuance of the said recited Writ, give notice that a public meeting of the Electors of the aforesaid District, will be held at Akaroa, in the Police Office, on Friday, the 16th day of March, at noon, for the purpose of nominating Two Persons to serve as members of the Provincial Council for the district of Akaroa, and in the event of a poll being demanded for the candidates, or either of them, such polling shall take place on Saturday the 17th day of March, in the Police Office, at Akaroa. The voting to commence at any time after nine o'clock, a.m., and to close at 4 o'clock, p.m., of the same day.
