PROCLAMATION.

JAMES EDWARD FITZ GERALD,
Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, New Zealand, by virtue of the powers in me in that behalf vested, do hereby proclaim and fix the second meeting of the Provincial Council of Canterbury for the second Session thereof, to be held at the Council Chamber in Christchurch at 12 o'clock at noon on Wednesday, the 15th day of February, 1854.

Given under my hand this twenty-fifth day of January, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty-four.

HIS HONOR THE SUPERINTENDENT has been pleased to appoint John Marshman, Esq., to be Registrar of Brands for Sheep, under the Scab and Catarrh Ordinance, Sess. I. No 9; and Mr. Marshman’s room in the Land-Office at Christchurch to be the office for the Registration of Brands. His Honor further gives notice that sheep-brands must be registered on or before the first day of February next, under a penalty of Five Pounds.

The original brand, or an accurate copy or impression thereof, must be produced at the office of the Registrar of brands, in order that a copy may be entered in the book kept for that purpose. The person registering the brand must attest the correctness of the copy in the Registrar’s Book.

A fee of one shilling will have to be paid for the registration of every brand.
